Learning for 4/30


Good Morning Parents and Students,


Here are your learning opportunities for today.

Language Arts:

  • 40 minutes of independent reading. 
(GetEpic is also another great option for reading. Parents, please check your email for information about signing in to Get Epic remotely.)

  • Reading Response: Use the reading response menu posted in Google Classroom.  Open the reading response document, select one response for the day, and write about it using whatever independent text you choose. Please DO NOT submit your doc.  Keep it so you can add to it each week.  

  • Continue working on your poetry theme SCR. This is due by Friday at 3:30. Please hit TURN IN when you are finished.

Math:

  • 8.6 Quick Check Please complete this first. (This is in Math Google Classroom like your other math tasks have been.)

  • 1 Envision Practice Buddy Math Lesson 13.6 (You will get to this by going to your Math Google Classroom.)

  • Practice your multiplication facts.

  • Continue Working on your Short Constructed Response (SCR) for the theme of the two poems you chose. This is due FRIDAY AT 3:30. PLEASE TURN IT IN WHEN YOU ARE DONE.

  • 1 iReady Reading Lesson 
-To access this lesson, you will need to log on to iReady (https://login.i-ready.com/) 
-Go to the reading section on iReady. 
- Look under “Teacher Assigned Lessons”
  1. Your lesson is called “Theme of a Poem”

Math:

  • 1. Watch the Virtual Learning Video on Area and Perimeter 13.6
(You will get to this by going to your Math Google Classroom.)

  • 2. Complete the 13.6 Independent Practice page 503, questions 3-9 only. You will need to do this on your own piece of paper.
  • Practice your multiplication facts.

We will discuss your progress during our reading groups this week.

  • This week you have a new lesson on theme. There is a video lesson from Miss Westra posted in Reading Google Classroom along with a sample response, a checklist, and a list of stories to choose from. A blank google doc has been attached as well. It is all explained on the video and in Classroom. This assignment is due Friday at 3:30, and it will be the focus of our discussion during this week's reading groups.
